This Week: Seltzer Twists Again and a “Great” Extension

Alan Seltzer, also known as “Seltzer with a Twist”, returns to “The Grooveyard Thursday night following a planned vacation and two unplanned weeks off due to the recent  storms.  Alan will feature the music of Clyde McPhatter on his birthday plus the  “Top Ten @ 10” for November 15, 1957.

To accommodate anyone who lost power or was otherwise distracted due to Hurricane Sandy, the deadline for the final first round Grooveyard Greats poll has been extended until next Tuesday, November 20, at 10 PM.  You can vote for up to 10 favorite songs for 1956 in this poll.  Voting in the final round poll, including the top songs by percentage from the yearly polls, begins Thanksgiving at noon.  Links to results of completed polls are available here.

In another schedule change, Alan Seltzer will join “Cousin Brucie” Morrow in his Sirius XM studio December 12, not this Wednesday as originally scheduled.  The visit will support WhyHunger’s annual Hungerthon.

Everyone at “The Grooveyard” supports the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  Visit the American Red Cross website to see how you can help.  There’s also a link for anyone needing assistance.

“The Grooveyard” can be heard on 88.1 FM on Long Island, the 88.1 FM link on or the TuneIn app on your SmartPhone.  Feel free to send song requests, comments and suggestions below.
