If not for Hurricane–sorry, Superstorm–Sandy, today would be the busiest day of WhyHunger’s Hungerthon. Since it’s beginning in 1975 by the late singer Harry Chapin and Executive Director Bill Ayres, WhyHunger has been a leader in building the movement to end hunger and poverty by connecting people to nutritious, affordable food and by supporting grassroots solutions that inspire self-reliance and community empowerment. Alan Seltzer and Scott Perschke of the Grooveyard crew will once again be volunteer supervisors during this year’s Hungerthon, now scheduled for December 8th and 12th. Both of us will be providing volunteers with information to get their jobs done, and Alan will also be joining Cousin Bruce Morrow in the studio during his December 12th SiriusXM show as he raises money for Hungerthon.
In the meantime, you can help three ways:
- Get information about Hungerthon and WhyHunger here.
- Make a donation or buy a t-shirt, sweatshirt or Hungerthon bear here.
- Bid on auctions for a wide variety of auction items here. (Keep checking–more will be added!)
Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for your support from everyone at…
