Grooveyard Greats Results: 1955 and Earlier

Voting in the survey for songs charting 1955 or earlier was tight, with seven songs just missing the Top Five.  Here are your favorites in alphabetical order:

“Ain’t That a Shame” by Fats Domino

“Rock Around the Clock” by Bill Haley and His Comets

“Earth Angel” by The Penguins

“Only You (And You Alone)” by The Platters

“Sixty Minute Man” by Billy Ward and His Dominos

Overall, 39 different songs received attention in the Grooveyard Greats survey for songs from 1955 or earlier.  There was also one write-in vote which was omitted since the song was released in 1955, but peaked in 1956 and will be included in that survey.

The top overall vote-getters by percentage regardless of year will advance to the final round, with the Top Thirty revealed during a special edition of “The Grooveyard” at the end of December.

Surveys for 1957 and 1959 are currently open.  See a full schedule on the “Grooveyard Greats” home page.
