Video of the Week: October 14, 2013

In honor of this week’s Homecoming Celebration on “The Grooveyard”, we offer you a double play.  First, Hank Neimark, WCWP’s first chief engineer and the first voice ever heard on WCWP and Station Manager from 1962 to 1965, sings “Happy Birthday” during WCWP’s 50th anniversay celebration two years ago.  Hank was on of the original inductees into WCWP’s Hall of Fame in 2012.  For anyone looking for more traditional oldies, we offer Neil Sedaka singing “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen” on the classic prime time show, “Shindig”.

Don’t forget that voting continues on the “Grooveyard Greats” listener surveys.  You can choose your favorite songs of 1959 and 1962 once a day.  Details, a schedule of all the first-round polls and rules are here.  Updates on voting are available via Twitter.  And join Alan Seltzer on “The Grooveyard” Thursday nights at 9 PM ET on wcwp.org, or on 88.1 FM in Nassau County.
