On March 3, 1960, Elvis Presley and 79 other soldiers arrived at Fort Dix, New Jersey where they were discharged from the Army. A press conferencewss held followed by a party attended by manager “Colonel” Tom Parker and Nancy Sinatra, whom Elvis had met while at a USO show. Elvis recorded “Stuck On You” later that month. Six years later, Sinatra reached the height of her own popularity after having a hit with “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ “.
