This Week: Elvis Live

Elvis-Presley

While Elvis Presley appeared on New York-based television programs like the Ed Sullivan and Steve Allen shows, recorded music in local studios and even embarked to Germany from Brooklyn when he was in the Army, it took a long time before he played a stage show in the area.  That changed the weekend of June 9-11, 1972, when he performed at Madison Square Garden for the first time.  We’ll share highlights from  one of those shows Thursday night at 9 PM as we commemorate the upcoming anniversary of his death on “The Grooveyard”.
