On the anniversary of the first time a television network presented all programs in “living color”, Thursday night’s edition of “The Grooveyard” will feature songs with colors in the title. “Concentration”, a daytime game show, made the change on November 6, 1966, making NBC an all-color network. Host Alan Seltzer will also offer the biggest hits of November 5, 1959 on the Top Ten @ 10.
Voting also continues in our annual “Grooveyard Greats: listener poll. You can choose your 10 favorite songs of 1957 now through Thursday, and the best of 1962 through the end of next week’s show. Choose songs from the list, or write in your own favorites. Details and a full schedule are on our first round page here. Details about an expanded final round will be announced later this month.
“The Grooveyard” can be heard on 88.1 FM on Long Island, the 88.1 FM link on wcwp.org or the TuneIn app on your SmartPhone. (You can also click the logo on the right.) Join us on. . .
