Tonight’s the Night!
No, we’re not doing a Rod Stewart special. Join us for a special six-hour Friday night edition of “The Grooveyard” starting at 6 PM tonight when the results of the 2014 Grooveyard Great 88 listener survey are unveiled.
Host Alan Seltzer has a pre-survey show starting at 6 PM, featuring the Top 20 songs from the 2013 survey. The results of the expanded Great 88 will be played starting at 7 PM. We’ll offer the best of both worlds. . .
- On the air: More music, with less talk. 11 more survey songs than any other listener survey being unveiled today.
- On the website: New pages in the Grooveyard Greats Finals section of the website unveiled as we complete each 11 survey songs, with rare video clips plus fun facts about each of the songs. Find out what John Wayne, Pink Floyd, Shirley and Company, Bob Hope, the TV show M*A*S*H, Cary Grant, a singer from South Africa, and car problems had to do with songs on this year’s survey. The first page, with information on the “12 Days of Greats” songs that just missed our survey, is now available.
- And tomorrow, watch the Grooveyard Great 88 section for a special survey sheet, listing all of this year’s 88 songs in order. It’s just like the ones you used to pick up each week at your local record store!
Join us tonight at 6 PM, and follow “The Grooveyard” on Twitter.
“The Grooveyard” can be heard on 88.1 FM on Long Island, the 88.1 FM link on wcwp.org or the TuneIn app on your SmartPhone. (You can also click the logo on the right.) We’ll return to our regular time at 9 PM Thursday nights on January 8, with special features and the Top Ten @ 10.
