This Week: R&B is Here to Stay

In it’s issue of January 15, 1955, Billboard Magazine declared that “music with an R&B beat is not longer regarded as a passing phase by major recording firms.”   On this Thursday’s edition of “The Grooveyard”, host Alan Seltzer will celebrate the anniversary of that report by playing some of the top rhythm ‘n blues songs of the era.  The Top Ten @ 10 will feature the hits of January 15, 1959.

We’ll also announce plans for the “Saturday Soiree”, a new show from the producers of “The Grooveyard”, scheduled to begin on January 31.  You can get a sneak peek at the new show’s website here.
