Tributes to the late Stan Freberg and the Hullabaloo television series highlight “The Grooveyard” and “Saturday Soiree” this week.
This Thursday at 9 PM, host Alan Seltzer looks back at the life of Stan Freberg, the recording artist, comedian, radio personality and advertising creative director, who died Tuesday. Included will be his parodies of songs often played on “The Grooveyard”, plus some of his popular commercials from the era. The Top Ten @ 10 features the music of April 9, 1960.
Starting at 7 PM, the “Saturday Soiree” will feature the songs and artists performed on “Hullabaloo” the prime time musical variety series that appeared on NBC-TV from January 12, 1965 until April 11, 1966. The Soiree Survey will feature the top songs of the day the show was cancelled.
