Continuing our Thanksgiving week tradition, “The Grooveyard” is taking the week off to participate in Hungerthon, an annual New York radio event raising funds and awareness to fight hunger issues in America. With help from supporters, the 30th annual event will help more families secure healthy affordable food and invest in more long-term sustainable solutions to end hunger than ever before. You can help by purchasing a t-shirt or other gift item, or by participating in one of the many auctions closing beginning on Tuesday. Meantime, voting is now open in the final round of the Grooveyard Great 88 listener survey. Pick your ten favorites in each of the three polls, covering songs that were hits in 1957 and earlier, 1958-1960 and 1961-1963. Voting is open through December 10 at 11 PM, and results will be announced during a special five-hour edition of “The Grooveyard” Saturday, December 26 starting at 7 PM. An expanded three-hour edition of “The Grooveyard” begins a week later at the same time.
