It’s a “Greats” Day!

GROOVEYARD 88_FINAL 2

Holiday gifts have been unwrapped, so it’s time for our year-end present–unveiling the results of ths year’s Grooveyard Great 88 listener survey.  Alan Seltzer begins the celebration at 7 PM tonight, with the best of both worlds:

  • On the air:  More music, with less talk.  You’ll hear all the songs on the Great 88 in order, plus some songs that just missed the survey.
  • On the website:  New pages in the Grooveyard Greats Finals section of the website will be unveiled each time we complete each 11 survey songs, with rare video clips plus fun facts about each of the songs.  Find out how a group from New Jersey influenced Motown, how a flight delay reulted in a hit for Elvis, and what song was only released at the urging of the producer’s girlfriend.  The first page, with information on the “12 Days of Greats” songs that just missed our survey, is now available.
  • And tomorrow, watch the Grooveyard Great 88 section for a special survey sheet, listing all of this year’s 88 songs in order.  It’s just like the ones you used to pick up each week at your local record store!WCWP logo new

Also, “The Grooveyard”  expands to three hours when we move to our new regular time Saturdays at 7 PM on January 2.  The Grooveyard Top Ten will be featured starting at 8 PM, and we’ll have an all-new Grooveyard Party Hour at 9 PM.  Listen to us on 88.1 FM on Long Island or by clicking the 88.1 FM link on wcwp.org.  You can also follow us on Twitter.

Happy holidays from. . .
