“The Grooveyard” returns Saturday night after shoveling out from the Blizzard of 2016 with the music of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. It’s also the last chance to vote in the Love Song Survey.
Beginning at 7 PM, host Alan Seltzer will feature many hits by Leiber and Stoller on the 55th anniversary of the establishment of their production company. The duo wrote songs for Elvis Presley, the Coasters, the Drifters, Jay and the Americans and many others. We’ll also feature their songs on our “Under the Covers” segment. This week’s Grooveyard Top Ten features the hits of January 30, 1962, and play some of your favorite songs during the all-new Grooveyard Party Hour starting at 9 PM.
Saturday is also the last day to vote for your favorite Love Songs of the Grooveyard era in our pre-Valentines Day listener survey. There’s two different polls, one for love songs of the 1950s, and one for love songs from 1960-1963. Pick your 10 favorites from each group of years before the polls close at 10 PM. You can also write in other songs if your choice isn’t listed. Details are available here.
