Saturday night at 7 PM on “The Grooveyard”, we’ll look back at the artists who died in the plane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa on February 3, 1959, frequently called “The Day the Music Died”. Alan Seltzer will feature the music of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Buddy’s music will also be featured in our “Under the Covers” segment along with some unusual versions of his songs, and other music related to the event.
We’ll also pay tribute to Herb Oscar Anderson, the original Morning Mayor of New York radio, who passed away this week. In additon, the Grooveyard Top Ten will feature the hits of February 6, 1962 and play many of your favorites during the Grooveyard Party Hour starting at 9 PM.
Voting has closed for our Love Song Survey. We’ll count down the top songs on next week’s pre-Valentines Day show. Meanwhile, you can dedicate a love song on our Requests and Dedications page.
