This Weekend: A Bandstand Boogie

We’ll have a Bandstand Boogie Saturday night on TheGrooveyard when host Alan Seltzer celebrates the anniversary of Dick Clark beginning host duties on the show that became “American Bandstand”.

On July 9. 1956, Clark replaced Bob Horn on a local dance show on WFIL in Philadelphia called “Bandstand” after the original host was charged with DUI.  The show would continue to run for 37 years.  We’ll feature many of the artists who became well-known because of the show.

In addition, The Grooveyard Top Ten will features the top songs of July 8, 1956, and we’ll play your requests during the Groovyard Party Hour.
