1957 – The Results


The survey for the best songs of 1957 was the closest first-round races in the survey’s history.  The top five songs were within a percentage point of each other, and another three songs were close behind.  The Coasters, Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis returned to the top five, with “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” appearing on top for the third straight year.  Here’s the top five songs from 1957  alphabetically by artist:

“Come Go With Me” by The Del Vikings

“Little Darlin'” by The Diamonds

“That’ll Be the Day” by Buddy Holly and the Crickets

“Whole Lotta’ Shakin’ Goin’ On” by Jerry Lee Lewis
