This Weekend: An “Itsy Bitsy” Birthday and a Big Project

A six-pack of hits by Brian Hyland will be featured on this weekend’s edition of “The Grooveyard”.

Filling in for Alan Seltzer, guest host Bobby G will feature the music of the artist who virtually defined the sound of bubble gum during the Grooveyard era.  He’ll also offer the hits of November 11, 1962, play more of your favorites during the Grooveyard Party hour and update the voting for our Grooveyard Great 88 polls.

In addition, we’ll be giving a pair of tickets to see The Doo-Wop Project at the Madison Theatre in Rockville Center on November 26.  In their shows, the group traces the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today.

Voting continues in our sixth annual Grooveyard Great 88 listener survey. The polls for the your 10 favorite songs from 1958 and 1961 closes at the end of Saturday’s show at 10 PM.  You can also choose the best songs of 1959.  In addition, the results of earlier surveys are posted in the Great 88 section.
