This Weekend: ABC=American Bandstand Celebration

We’ll have a Bandstand Boogie Saturday night on The Grooveyard when host Alan Seltzer celebrates the 61st anniversary of American Bandstand.

Originally a local show in Philadelphia, ABC aired Bandstand nationally for the first time August 5, 1957 and changed the name to American Bandstand.  We’ll play many of the artists who had significant performances on the show, some of which changed the course of music.

In addition, the Grooveyard Top 10 will feature the hits of August 4, 1960 and we’ll play more of your favorites during the Grooveyard Party hour.
