1962 – The Results

Consistency has rarely been a factor in the results for the best songs of 1962.  In last year’s record voting, no songs repeated to the top five.  Only Jimmy Clanton repeated this time, and that was by a very narrow margin.

Here’s the top five songs in alphabetical order by artist:

“Palisades Park” by Freddy Cannon

“Venus in Blue Jeans” by Jimmy Clanton

“The Wanderer” by Dion and the Belmonts

“Twist and Shout” by The Isley Brothers

“The Wah Watusi” by The Orlons

Voting on the polls for the best songs of 1955 and earlier , 1957 and 1960 close soon.   Check out the full schedule here, and get updates on Twitter.
