This Weekend: A Bandstand Boogie

We’ll have a Bandstand Boogie Saturday night on The Grooveyard when host Alan Seltzer celebrates the 61st anniversary of American Bandstand.

Originally a local show in Philadelphia, ABC aired Bandstand nationally for the first time August 5, 1957 and changed the name to American Bandstand.  We’ll play many of the artists who had significant performances on the show, some of which changed the course of music.

In addition, the Grooveyard Top 10 will feature the hits of August 10, 1961 and we’ll play more of your favorites during the Grooveyard Party hour.

Be sure to follow The Grooveyard’s website so you know if advance about abbreviated or pre-emted shows due to LIU sports coverage.  Along with the announcements, followers will receive a full Top Ten in their e-mail when we play a Top Five during half hour shows.  Just five us your name and e-mail here.
