This Weekend: Lite’s Off

Note:  Due to technical issues at the arena preventing the broadcast of the hockey game, this half – hour broadcast will be replaced with a live three-hour regular edition of the show.  See the details here.

The Grooveyard offers the first of it’s half hour “Light” shows followed by LIU Sharks Women’s Hockey on Saturday.

As always, host Alan Seltzer will feature the top hits from the date in history.  While there will only be time for the Top Five songs of September 28, 1959 to be played during the show, the full Top Ten will be posted online as usual following the survey.  The show will also offer updates on the annual Great 88 survey and other favorites from the early years of rock.  The Grooveyard returns to our full three-hour show in two weeks.

Voting continues in the eighth annual Great 88 surveys.  The survey for the 10 best songs of 1958 closes on Saturday at 11 PM.  You can also pick your 10 favorite songs from  1959 and 1962  here daily.  A full first round schedule and additional information can be found here.   You can also find the results of earlier surveys in the Great 88 section.

Be sure to follow The Grooveyard’s website so you know if advance about abbreviated or pre-emted shows due to LIU sports coverage.  Along with the announcements, followers will receive a full Top Ten in their e-mail when we play a Top Five during half hour shows.  Just give us your name and e-mail here.
