This Weekend: Pack Your Bags

The Grooveyard is going around the world.

Join host Alan Seltzer Saturday night at 7 PM when we feature songs about cities and towns around the country and the world in honor of alumni traveling to join WCWP’s Homecoming Weekend next week.  During that weekend, alumni return to host shows they did at the station as students at LIU Post.

Since The Grooveyard will be pre-empted for the annual event, we’ll feature two Top Ten surveys.  We’ll share the top hits of October 12, 1957 followed by the survey for October 12, 1955.  Following the surveys, we’ll play more of your favorites and take your requests during the Grooveyard Party hour.

For the first time in the listener poll’s eight year history, voting is currently available on five different Great 88 surveys.

  • The 1962 survey was extended one week due to technical issues with last week’s show, and will close Saturday..
  • The 1959 poll will close as planned Saturday.
  • Voting continues for your favorites of 1961.
  • Polling just opened for 1957 and 1955 and earlier.  The 1955 survey was opened earlier than usual since The Grooveyard will not be heard next Saturday.

A full first round schedule and additional information can be found here.  You can also find the results of earlier surveys in the Great 88 section.

Be sure to follow The Grooveyard’s website so you know if advance about abbreviated or pre-emted shows due to LIU sports coverage.  Along with the announcements, followers will receive a full Top Ten in their e-mail when we play a Top Five during half hour shows.  Just give us your name and e-mail here.
