We’ll commemorate Sunday’s 43rd anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death this weekend on the Grooveyard when host Alan Seltzer shares music from one of his most important concerts.
While Elvis appeared on New York-based television programs like the Ed Sullivan and Steve Allen shows, recorded music in local studios and even embarked to Germany from Brooklyn when he was in the Army, it took a long time before he played a stage show in the area. That changed the weekend of June 9-11, 1972, when he performed at Madison Square Garden for the first time.
In addition, the Grooveyard Top 10 will feature the hits of August 15, 1957 and we’ll play more of your favorites during the Grooveyard Party hour.
