1957 – The Results

Buddy Holly dominated the first round survey for the best songs of 1957 for the second year in a row. Between solo hits and songs with the Crickets, he had two songs in the Top Five–both repeats from last year–plus another three in the Top Ten. The Del Vikings also returned to the Top Five for the fifth consecutive years.

Here’s the top five songs from 1957 alphabetically by artist:

“Come Go With Me” by The Del Vikings

“Wake Up Little Susie” by The Everly Brothers

“Not Fade Away” by Buddy Holly and the Crickets

“Everyday” by Buddy Holly

“Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley
