1962 – The Results

The only thing consistent about the first round contest for the top songs of 1962 is inconsistency. Here's the results of the last first-round Great 88 survey this year.

1958 – The Results

The Holly-day season started with voting for the top songs of 1958, with Buddy Holly--with and without the Crickets--and the Everly Brothers taking seven of the 15 highest positions. Here's the Top Five.

1955 and Earlier – The Results

This survey is a study of extremes, with three songs making the list for the first or second time on one end. On the other end, The Penguins have now reached the Top Five in the first round all ten years the Great 88 was in existence. And more surprising, the survey set a first-round record for votes.

1961 – The Results

Another year, another tight race in the 10th annual Great 88 survey of the best songs of 1961. Only 10 votes separated the six songs with the highest scores. Here's the Top Five.
